The UIL Regional Soccer Tournament begins Friday, April 5th.
TYLER, Texas — Four East Texas football teams are still alive in the UIL playoffs.
6A Boys
The Tyler Legacy boys soccer team will advance to the regional tournament for the first time since 2012 after defeating Dallas Skyline 1-0 on Tuesday night.
Knox Hicks scored the only goal with an assist from Eric Mendez. The Red Raiders will play Cypress Woods on April 5 at 11 a.m. in Round Rock.
4A Boys
Kilgore defeated Jacksonville 1-0 on Tuesday to advance to the regional tournament.
Aiden Reyes scored the only goal of the game. Kilgore will face Wilmer Hutchins in the regional semifinals at 11 a.m. April 5 at Christus Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium in Tyler.
Palestine will return to the regional tournament with a 3-2 win over Chapel Hill on Tuesday.
Tony Sanchez scored all three goals for Palestine, who fought back hard after falling behind 2-0 in the first half. The Wildcats will face Panther Creek on Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Christus Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium in Tyler.
4A Girls
The Jacksonville Maidens defeated Athens 4-1 to advance to the girls 4A regional tournament.
The Maidens will play Celina on Friday, April 5 at 4 p.m. at Christus Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium in Tyler.
