The East Sac County Raider soccer team opened the season on the road Monday night against the Logan Magnolia Panthers with a 4-0 win for the Raider girls and a 9-1 win for the Raider boys.
In the women's game, Kenna Meyer scored her first goal of the season five minutes into the game, giving the Raiders an early 1-0 lead. That wasn't the end for Meyer, as she scored her second goal of the game with 17:07 remaining, giving the Raiders a 2-0 lead. The Raiders scored two more goals in the final 15 minutes of the first half, with Chloe Vielette setting up Cora Marler's score (13:04) and Vielette also scoring (3:17), giving the Raiders a four-point lead. In the second half, the Raiders tightened up their defense and outscored the Panthers' onslaught, resulting in a 4-0 victory for the Raiders. The Panthers scored in the first 10 minutes of the second half to cut the lead to 5-1, but the Raiders fought back with four straight goals and won 9-1.
