College Football 25's servers went down for maintenance at 6 a.m. ET on Wednesday, July 17. The Orlando-based company announced the outage the previous evening.
Downdetector, which tracks outages and service errors, showed a spike in reports of EA outages at 7am that subsided, but reported issues spiked again just before 10.30am.
College Football 25 is the first college football video game since NCAA Football 14 over a decade ago. Fans who pre-ordered the game have noticed issues while playing, including overloaded servers making it difficult to play online and “Lorem Ipsum” filler text appearing instead of actual options in Dynasty Mode, Ultimate Team, and more.

Users on Reddit suggest disabling your internet connection to disconnect from online play, and it appears that these modes also work offline.
But as many disgruntled users wrote on social media, one of the game's biggest draws was the ability to play against friends or other college football fans, so EA's early struggles remain frustrating.

You can play EA Sports College Football 25 right now if you pre-order, and for everyone else, the game will become available on Friday, July 19th.
College Football 25 is only available on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. It is not available on PC, PS4, or Xbox One.

The standard edition of the game will cost $69.99. The Deluxe and MVP editions will be available for pre-order until Thursday, July 18. The Deluxe edition will cost $99.99, while the MVP bundle, which includes Madden NFL 25, will cost $149.99.
