The most anticipated moment of the 2024 college football preseason is fast approaching, and fans are getting ready to play the video game EA Sports College Football 25 as it returns to the market for the first time in over a decade.
According to On3 Sports, Electronic Arts has attracted over 14,000 players who have opted in to take part in the game, helping the game hit a major milestone ahead of its monumental release on July 19th.
That figure exceeds the 10,000 players EA had expected to join in an effort to develop a more realistic game that would include 85-player rosters for all 134 FBS football teams.
OneTeam Partners, a company that organizes licensing rights for college and professional athletes, has been managing the non-life rights between college football players and EA.
Each player who takes part in the game will receive $600 and a copy of the game.

EA Sports last released a popular college football video game more than a decade ago in 2013, after which the company announced it was discontinuing the game.
The decision comes following a court ruling ordering EA Sports to pay compensation to athletes who were previously included in the product but not paid.
Then, after the new NIL rules were enacted two years ago, EA publicly announced that the game would return at some point in the future.
After a long wait, and many tantalizing previews, the future is closer than ever.
