The Minnesota Timberwolves took note of Draymond Green's criticism of Karl-Anthony Towns and Rudy Gobert.
Appearing as a commentator on TNT's “Inside the NBA” during the Western Conference semifinal game between the Dallas Mavericks and Timberwolves, Green frequently criticized Minnesota's big men, including calling Gobert a “barbecue chicken” while defending Mavericks star Luka Doncic and claiming Towns lied about his pregame preparation.
The Timberwolves were unhappy with Green's comments and planned to boycott Green and Panel's on-court interview following the Game 4 win over Dallas, The Athletic reported. Reported by Shams Charania He said this in his latest column, citing team sources.
“[Anthony] “Edwards is surrounded by a close-knit team, so strong that the team decided not to have any players appear on TNT's 'Inside the NBA' postgame show following the Game 4 win in Dallas, a team source told The Athletic,” Charania wrote.
“The decision was a show of support for Gobert and Towns, who had been the subject of derisive and personal criticism from judge and Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green.”
The series means no Timberwolves players will ever appear on “Inside the NBA” again.
That's because their season ended promptly after an ugly loss in Game 5 on Thursday.
