Behind two goals from Dominik Barteko, the New Jersey Titans built a lead and defeated the Maine Nordiques on Saturday night.
Maine scored three straight goals, but the Titans defeated the Nordiques 4-3 in an NAHL East division matchup at the Middletown Ice World Arena in Middletown, New Jersey.
The Titans defeated the Nordiques for the second straight time.
Bartecco scored his first goal of the game nearly five minutes into the game.
Jack Hillier, who had one of two assists on Bartecco's first goal, put the Titans up 2-0 (35-22-3, 73 points) late in the opening frame. Assisted by Bartecco.
Arhip Sidarovic beat Maine goaltender Carter Richardson (38 saves) early in the second period to take a 3-0 advantage. Nikita Meshcheryakov recorded his third assist of the game.
Bartecco scored again about 17 minutes into his second goal, with Lucas Martial recording his second straight assist.
The Maine (37-16-6, 80 points) offense turned around in the final minutes of the second period, starting with defenseman JP Steele's shot that was hit by Titans goaltender Dylan Click (36 saves). Goal was scored by. Zion Green and Kellen Murphy had helpers.
Fellow defenseman Evan Orlov cut the deficit to 4-2 in the final moments of midfield. Forward Cole Hipkin set the record.
Both goals came from power plays.
Charles Tardif scored his 36th goal of the season 14:28 into the third period. Steele and Ryan Panico had assists.
Maine pulled Richardson late, but was unable to score the tying goal.
The Nordiques will conclude the regular season Sunday against the Philadelphia Rebels in Sewell, New Jersey at 3:05 p.m.
