WBC light welterweight champion Devin Haney is certain to knock out challenger Ryan Garcia this Saturday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Where's the punch?
Haney (31-0, 15 KOs) hasn't been knocked out by anyone in the five years since 2019, and his power has shown no signs of improving since moving up to 140 pounds. Of course, that could be the result of him losing 25 pounds. From 165.
When a fighter loses that much weight, power is negatively affected. The standard for fighters to lose weight is 10 pounds, not 25 or more like Haney.
What he does is weight bullying, fighting far below his natural weight class to take advantage of his size.
If Haney were to lose just 10 pounds, he would have to fight someone in the 154-pound weight class who can really punch. It's safe to say that Haney's career would end almost immediately.
Hamptons Dreaming
Haney always talks about buying a luxury mansion in New York's Hamptons, which is full of billionaires and is super expensive, so you can only buy it if you have a lot of money.
Bill Haney: “So all the real estate agents have been pitching in. Devin is ready to buy one of them for a good one.” [places in New York]. Would you like to buy a penthouse around here, Champion? What are you looking for?'' Bill said on social media.
Devin Haney: “Maybe I could go to the Hamptons and buy you one of the mansions in the Hamptons.” [in New York]”
Bill: “I'm going to buy real estate in New York. It's a takeover of the East Coast.”
Haney: “We're not talking about Teofimo. We're talking about Devin Haney.”
Will Haney be able to make his knockout predictions come true?
Bill: “Will Ryan's back touch the canvas on 4/20?”
Haney: “I guarantee you. I promise, I'm going to knock Ryan out. You'll see that I'm a level above this guy. Like I said, he's a C-level fighter. I'm an A+. I’m a fighter and I’m going to prove it.”
Bill: “You've never let me down, champ. I already know you'll deliver. Ryan Garcia, we're in town, so Devin against Barclays on April 20th. will carry you on his back.”
