The New Jersey Devils and the City of Hoboken last week announced a partnership to renovate the Johnny Ray McDonald Jr. “Diddle” Hockey Rink and create new recreational programs.
The Devils donated $230,000 to revitalize the rink and purchase new equipment.
The project includes:
- Removal and disposal of old boarding systems.
- Patch and smooth the surface of the link.
- Dashboard curb footing and new dashboard installation.and
- New rink flooring.
The NHL/NHLPA Industry Growth Fund provided the contribution. Now in its 10th year, IGF creates opportunities to support the growth of hockey both on and off the ice. The funding includes $10,000 to hire part-time coaches and staff to assist the recreation department in developing programs at the rink, including ball hockey clinics, women's hockey initiatives, adult leagues, and game play for children and adults. include.
