The deadline is fast approaching for young people in Jefferson and the surrounding area to register for Jefferson Parks and Recreation Department's three youth soccer programs.
JPRD is partnering with the Boone Soccer Club for fall soccer programs for the U10, U12 and U15. Registration fees are $90 for the U10 and U12 and $125 for the U15, according to JPRD Assistant Director Nathan Kral. Kral noted that youth who participate must register separately with JPRD and the Boone Soccer Club. There are additional fees for jerseys, shorts and socks. Practices for all three programs begin August 18, with games taking place from September 7 through mid-October. All U10 and U12 games will be played at the Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) Boone campus, while the U15 is a travel league with games played at various locations.
Krall talks about his partnership with the Boone Soccer Club that goes back several years.
“Ever since I've been here we've partnered with Boon to do soccer and the turnout has been great. I think we've had about 300 kids sign up for U-10 to U-15 soccer. They're signing up and they're playing soccer and it's great.”
The deadline to register is July 10th. Below is the online registration link for the Boone Soccer Club. Please contact the Greene County Community Center at 515-386-2134 or stop by in person to register with the JPRD.
