2024 U.S. Olympic Selection
Finally the wait is over.
SwimSwam will be reporting live from the scene of the 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials, which begin this morning at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
The competition will begin with the women's 100m butterfly qualifying round, followed by the women's 400m freestyle, men's 100m breaststroke and men's 400m freestyle in the opening session.

Gretchen Walsh It couldn't have been a better start to the 2024 Olympic Trials.
Coming off an incredible NCAA season with a record-setting performance in the 100 butterfly, Walsh became just the seventh woman ever to break 56 seconds in the long pool and became the second-fastest American of all time with a time of 55.94.
Walsh improved on his previous best time of 56.14. Dana Vollmer It is the second-highest total in American history and ranks sixth all-time.

After breaking 58 seconds for the first time earlier this season, Beata Nelson He showed great promise in the opening swim of the trials, improving his personal best to 57.68 seconds and comfortably placing sixth in the semi-finals.
Lakeside Charlotte Crush She shaved nearly three-tenths of a second off her personal best in a time of 58.68 seconds to advance to the semifinals in 15th place and move into 10th place all-time in the 15-16 age division.
Jersey Wahoos do well in Heat 5 Audrey Deliveau She impressed in her first Olympic Trials, posting a lifetime best of 59.25 to move into second place all-time in the girls' 13-14 age division.
The semi-final cut-off has been significantly reduced in 2021 at 58.73 compared to 59.05 three years ago.

Ledecky finished in a time of 3:59.99, her 29th time under four minutes.
