Gervonta Davis vs. Frank Martin predictions
The main event will feature a battle between two unbeaten lightweight boxers looking to prove who is the best in a talented 135-pound division. A protégé of Floyd Mayweather Jr., Gervonta Davis is a devastating boxer who overpowers his opponents with his explosive power.
Davis scored a sensational seventh-round knockout of Ryan Garcia in his last fight in April 2023. The 29-year-old Baltimore native has knocked out all but two of his previous opponents.
Meanwhile, 29-year-old Frank Martin has been quietly climbing the ranks. The slick southpaw is fresh off the biggest win of his career, a 12-round decision victory over Artem Harutyunyan last July. Martin used his speed, movement and sharp counterpunching to overwhelm the aggressive Harutyunyan.
This is a classic boxer vs puncher matchup. If Martin is to pull off the upset, he will need to use his jab, angles and footwork to keep Davis at bay. He cannot afford to stand in the pocket and deal with Davis' hard hitting. Martin's best chance will be to rack up points early and avoid getting hit by Davis' hard left punch.

67.5 in (171 cm) | arrival | 68 inches (173 cm) |

Davis, on the other hand, will look to get in close, aim for the body, and look for opportunities to land some powerful punches. Davis is good at patiently cornering his opponents and not wasting any punches. He is very smart when it comes to boxing and can adjust his strategy during the fight. If he can keep Martin against the ropes, the fight may not last long.
“The Ghost” has the style and skill to make this a competitive bout, but Davis has the advantage with the big-stage experience and power to finish the fight. Expect Davis to slowly wear down Martin and score a late stoppage to successfully defend his title.
Davis vs. Martin picks:
- Gervonta Davis wins by TKO

David Benavidez vs Oleksandr Gvozdyk Predictions
The double feature is an intriguing matchup as David Benavidez moves up to 175 pounds to face former champion Oleksandr Gvozdyk for the WBC interim light heavyweight title.
Benavidez has been a dominant force in the super middleweight division, tainted only by two title losses outside of the ring. The 27-year-old Phoenix native is coming off a third-round knockout win over Caleb Plant in his last bout.
Oleksandr Gvozdyk held the WBC light heavyweight title from 2018 to 2019 before losing it to Artur Beterbiev. The technically skilled Ukrainian boxer took an extended break after that bout, returning last year and making three comebacks at lower levels. It remains to be seen how much the 37-year-old former Olympic bronze medalist has left in him.
Benavidez is 10 years younger than his opponent on Saturday and will have the youth advantage over Gvozdyk. He will look to overwhelm the older man with his size, strength and relentless pressure. Benavidez is a good body puncher and will overwhelm opponents with a high volume of punches. However, he can take hits and was wobbled against Plant.
28-0 | record | 20-1 |
twenty four | knock out | 16 |
6'2″ (188 cm) | height | 6'2″ (188 cm) |
76 inches (193 cm) | arrival | 75.5 in (192 cm) |
Orthodox | stance | Orthodox |
To win, Gvozdyk will need to use his footwork and movement to stay off the ropes and out of range of Benavidez's powerful attacks. Gvozdyk is an accurate puncher with good timing and counter punching ability. If he can land his straight right and left hooks consistently, he could overwhelm Benavidez in 12 rounds.
Ultimately, Benavidez's youth, size and workload should be too much for Gvozdyk to handle at this stage of his career, and “The Mexican Monster” will apply intense pressure, wear down the body and tire Gvozdyk out for a late stoppage victory.
Benavidez vs Gvozdyk pick:
- David Benavidez wins by TKO
