And on Saturday night, the sport's fascinating division will be on display as Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk battle it out for the undisputed heavyweight championship.
Rising star and undefeated super middleweight/light heavyweight contender David Benavidez believes the winner between Fury and Usyk can be promoted as the face of the sport.
“The winner between Fury and Usyk is going to be the face of boxing right now,” Benavidez told BoxingScene. “This is the first time in 25 years that the heavyweight title is undisputedly unified. Heavyweight boxing is the pinnacle of boxing. There are two giants fighting.
“It's a tough fight to pick. My heart says Tyson Fury, but my brain says Oleksandr Usyk. It's going to be a great fight. Usyk is an animal. The way he boxed. It's like an art. You can always take a guy out. And you have Fury, who's tall and good at combinations. I expect to see a good fight. Masu.”
According to DraftKings, Fury is a -120 betting favorite and Usyk is a +100 betting underdog.
Benavidez has the talent to one day become the face of boxing.
Benavidez will look to forge the next chapter of his career when he makes his light heavyweight debut on June 15 against former lineal 175-pound champion Oleksandr Gvozdyk.
This bout will be the co-main event of the lightweight bout between Gervonta Davis and Frank Martin.
