Featherweight mainstay Max Holloway will take on lightweight slugger Justin Gaethje this Saturday night (April 13th) in Sin City for the organization's official and unofficial bragging rights belt, the BMF title. Trying to add a new title to your collection.
UFC 300, coming from the familiar space of T-Mobile Arena, boasts a rich lineup featuring 13 bouts and 12 current and former champions. At “The People's Main Event,” Holloway will move up from 145 to 155 to take the title from the baddest motherfucker in the UFC, Gaethje, and potentially earn himself a shot at the lightweight championship.
Appearing on a recent episode of First Take with Stephen A. Smith, UFC CEO Dana White called Holloway “the greatest featherweight of all time” while promoting his fight with Gaethje.
“Max Holloway has always been a fan favorite,” White said. “Fighting Gaethje, who is probably the greatest featherweight of all time and a human highlight reel” (h/t MMA Mania).

UFC 300 will mark the third time the BMF belt will be contested since its inception in 2019. The belt was first introduced in the main event match between Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz. After winning the title, “Gamebred” never defended the belt and suffered four consecutive losses and was forced to withdraw from the promotion.
In July, Justin Gaethje and Dustin Poirier met at UFC 291 to crown a new BMF titleholder. “The Highlight” scorched Poirier in the second round with a perfectly timed head kick KO.
“The idea for 'BMF' was created in this very room,” White told Smith from his Las Vegas office. “Whether it's Masvidal vs. Diaz, there's always going to be fights that fans love. Gaethje vs. Holloway type of fights. One day we were sitting here thinking about building this 'BMF' title. I was there. Who better suited for this than Justin Gaethje and Max Holloway? Here we thought about it. I said to them, “Tell me if I'm crazy, but what do you think about this idea?” They liked it and the fans liked it, so that's it. ”
