Dana White stunned MMA fans when he brutally slashed a fighter immediately after winning at UFC 304.
UFC came to Manchester on Saturday night, but it wasn't the spectacular Dana White was hoping for.
Seven bouts ended in decision wins and the lack of excitement surrounding the main card bout between Belal Muhammad and Leon Edwards left the UFC president in a bad mood.
That evening, Tom Aspinall defended his interim UFC heavyweight title with a first-round knockout win over Curtis Blaydes, while Paddy Pimblett won by first-round submission against King Green.
Whyte was visibly annoyed at the post-fight press conference, and unbeaten fighter Mohammed Mokaev felt his wrath.
Mohammed Mokaev improved to 13-0 with a unanimous decision victory over Manel Kape in a flyweight bout.
The two fighters had been locked in a heated battle over the past few weeks, including a hotel brawl and a fight at the weigh-in, but the actual fight didn't live up to expectations and White was left unsatisfied.
Ahead of the fight, Mokaev told reporters that Saturday's match was his final fight on his current contract and he wasn't sure if he would be re-signed.
When asked if the Dagestan fighter would remain with UFC, White was unequivocal.
“PFL is [Professional Fighters League] “We're going to get a great undefeated guy,” he replied.
White went on to explain that UFC matchmakers aren't big fans of Mokaev “for a variety of reasons.”
The sudden announcement came as a shock, considering Mokaev is ranked sixth in the flyweight division and is coming off an easy win at UFC 304.
But Mokaev's departure from UFC was probably always expected.
White has never been a fan of the 23-year-old's fighting style, nor has he been reportedly difficult to do business with.
Instead of re-signing Mokaev, White is happy to bring him to the world's second-ranked MMA promotion.
