dallas — North Texas' new women's professional soccer team is revealed.
Dallas Trinity FC is one of eight teams in the newly created USL Super League.
“We are excited to welcome Dallas Trinity FC to the USL Super League family,” said USL Super League President Amanda Vandervoort. “As pioneers, they are committed to being more than just a team. ” he said. “On and off the field, Dallas Trinity FC will unite the region and build a community around this growing sport.”
The team's colors are Sunrise Maroon, Prairie Gold and Live Oak Green, and are inspired by the Dallas skyline and Trinity River.
The team is owned by the Neal family, with Jim Neal serving as CEO. He is a co-founder of Churchill Capital, a Dallas-based real estate investment firm.
Charlie Neal is the team's president. The general manager is Chris Petrucelli.
At the May 8 Dallas City Council meeting, the city council approved a plan for the team to play in the Cotton Bowl for two years.
The season opens on August 16th.
