Ditcheva reached the semifinals of the PFL's $1 million tournament, where she remained undefeated by knocking out Chelsea Hackett in just over three minutes.
Undefeated mixed martial arts contender Dakota Dycheba knocked out Chelsea Hackett in just three minutes in her most recent bout.
The 25-year-old Briton boasted a perfect 11-0 record going into his bout against Hackett at PFL 4 in Connecticut. Ditcheva started strongly, knocking down fellow Muay Thai star Hackett inside the opening 30 seconds of the bout, but the Australian recovered well to get back on her feet.
Hackett's victory didn't last long, as Ditcheva pushed her against the fence and finished the bout with a series of knees and punches. The win advanced Ditcheva to the semifinals of the PFL's prestigious $1 million women's flyweight tournament, where she will face Jenna Bishop.
“Every time I fight I feel pressure because everyone expects me to get a stoppage and I expect it too,” Ditcheva said after her win. |I think I would be disappointed if I didn't get the stoppage. There's a lot of pressure, but I'm handling it well. I'm just not used to so many girls talking about me at once.
“I feel like all the girls in the tournament are talking about me and criticizing me. I'm growing, I live for this sport and now I'm ready to fight again.” If she beats Bishop in the next round, Dicheva will face either Talia Santos or Liz Carmouche for the $1 million prize.
Ditcheva is looking forward to the opportunity to face either Santos or Carmouche in the final, but knows her match against Bishop will be tough. “I'm looking forward to seeing two high-level players go up against each other,” she said. “It's going to be a great match, and I think the match against Jenna will be the same.”
British heavyweight mixed martial arts veteran Linton Vassell also competed in the Connecticut event, winning his third straight bout against Valentin Moldavsky. Vassell's win wasn't enough to get him into the semifinals of the heavyweight $1 million tournament, as he needed a finish to qualify, but he did beat Moldavsky on points.
