Sensei Rich Smith participated in the film “The Karate Breaker,” produced and directed by Shihan Gary Wazniewski, 10th degree black belt in karate, 5-degree record holder, and actor.
The film tells the story of a karate champion known for his martial arts skills who takes on a drug cartel to protect the youth of a small town.
The film was shot in London, Orlando, Houston and Atlantic City.

Mr Smith, of Sport Nunchaku in Windermere and Kendal, has been studying martial arts for 45 years and was crowned World Nunchaku Champion in Paris in 2019, is a 5th dan in Nunchaku and a 6th dan in Jiu-Jitsu.
In May, he was asked to take part in the film, traveling to London to shoot footage that will appear in the film, which is due for release in 2025.
Ms Smith explained that the film depicts the “struggle” of young people.
He said: “Grandmaster Gary Wazniewski said to me, 'It would be an honor to have someone of your stature and calibre in the film.'
“It was a big opportunity and a great honour for me to be in my first film. Since then, I've been offered roles in more zombie films.”
The film will include footage of Sensei Smith demonstrating karate and nunchuck techniques.
“There's a section where I teach, where I demonstrate techniques,” Dr. Smith said.
Gary Wazniewski has directed numerous films around the world and also starred in the films The Kill Factor and Thunderkick.
