Running back Rashad Amos changed his mind again.
On Saturday, roughly three weeks after announcing his intentions to transfer to Colorado, the former Miami and Ohio State star announced he would be heading to the University of Mississippi instead.
Amos, who ran for 1,075 yards and 13 touchdowns at Miami last year, originally committed to Mississippi State on April 13 but transferred to CU on April 26.
“I want to thank everyone for the support,” Amos wrote to X. “This is not for the faint of heart. I want to thank all of the coaches who have supported me through this process. I truly appreciate it. Finding the best fit on and off the field is not easy and there has been a lot to consider so after discussing that I would like to withdraw my commitment to Colorado!”
About 10 minutes later, Amos announced his commitment to Ole Miss. Amos began his career at the University of South Carolina and played three seasons with the Gamecocks (2020-22) before transferring to the University of Miami last year.
It's been an eventful offseason for the Buffaloes' running backs.
All five of last year's scholarship running backs are gone, including Kavosey Smoak, who graduated, and Anthony Hankerson, who transferred to Oregon State last winter. Then, last month, Dylan Edwards, Alton McCaskill IV and Syveon Wilkerson all left the program. Edwards went to Kansas State, McCaskill to Arizona State and Wilkerson to Georgia State.
The only scholarship running back remaining from the spring is freshman Micah Welch, who enrolled at CU as an early enrollee in January. In the past few weeks, the Buffaloes have offered a scholarship to walk-on Charlie Offerdahl, added Ohio State transfer Darran Hayden and signed freshman Brandon Hood.
