An Ansonia martial arts instructor has been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting one of his students several times, according to court documents.
Police say they have arrested 49-year-old Oulton Diaz on suspicion of sexually assaulting a teenage girl at his jiu-jitsu studio in Ansonia.
Police were called to Seymour's home in June for a separate incident, according to court documents. During her stay, the 14-year-old girl told officers that she was “groomed” by Coach Diaz and that the two had sex several times.
Police also learned that the boy was communicating with Diaz via Snapchat and made inappropriate comments to her, including asking to see the girl's private parts, the documents said.
Authorities said the 14-year-old girl described multiple instances of sexual abuse by Diaz, including initiating sexual contact in his car during her son's soccer game.
According to the documents, the two had known each other for several years, and Diaz expressed how important she was to him, saying things like, “I need you,” and “I would never hurt you, you're so special.” He was commenting on whether there was one.
Diaz was arrested a few days ago and charged with second-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor. He is being held on $250,000 bail.
