Former UFC two-weight champion Conor McGregor did not compete in person in the main event of UFC 303 in Las Vegas on Saturday night as originally scheduled, but instead took part digitally.

As the main event rematch between Alex Pereira and Jiri Prochazka drew to a close, McGregor unleashed his now infamous deleted tweet tirade, in which he appeared emotionally overcome about his postponed bout with Michael Chandler.
“I'm pissed at these damn newbies. The trick to dealing with newbies is to put them in a coma before they can inflict their newbie-ness on you. For the sake of your own mental health, put them in a coma or you're in big trouble.”

UFC has remained relatively quiet on McGregor's toe injury, as has UFC CEO Dana White, who told Robbie Fox on Friday night that an August, September or October return date is “not on the cards.”
Speaking with media on Saturday night, Chandler offered a different perspective on the negotiations with UFC.
Chandler met with UFC executives on Friday night and said he has no plans to “let McGregor go” or overlook the Irishman. Chandler said he and UFC are “working through some things” surrounding the McGregor fight, so an announcement from UFC could be coming sooner rather than later.
McGregor is still looking for his first win since 2020, and it's been nearly eight years since he won a championship bout. It remains to be seen if McGregor will compete again, but whatever happens, the MMA community will be eagerly awaiting the news.
