Jake Paul boxed MMA fighter Mike Perry on Saturday night and absolutely dominated the match. Paul knocked out Perry in the sixth round with a barrage of punches that eventually landed Perry on the canvas.
Perry tried to continue fighting, but the referee called the fight after Perry stumbled while trying to gather himself. Clearly, Paul had done enough damage to end Perry’s night.
It’s an impressive win for Paul, who continues to dominate almost every opponent he fights.
However, there’s one person who is not impressed at all by Paul and that’s another MMA fighter: Conor McGregor.
McGregor took to X (formerly Twitter) to accuse Paul of taking steroids and call him a “pissbag.”
In addition, McGregor “fired” Mike Perry from his Bare Knuckle FC promotion for losing to Paul.
After Paul defeated Perry, a reporter informed Paul of McGregor’s social media posts.
As expected, Paul fired right back at McGregor.
“Conor’s on Twitter all the time, he’s on his yacht all the time, but guess where he’s not? In the ring, fighting me,” Paul said.
“He can talk all he wants, but the ‘Notorious MMA’ is scared of Jake Joseph Paul from Disney Channel.”
That wasn’t even the only challenge that Paul put out there after beating Perry. Immediately following the fight, Paul had a challenge for another MMA fighter: Alex Pereira.
“Alex Pereira, you said you want to box, I’m the king of this,” Paul said. “I want you, Alex Pereira.”
Say what you want about Jake Paul, but the guy knows how to market and promote.
Paul is set to fight 58-year-old Mike Tyson on November 15 but is already looking ahead to his next matches.
As for a fight between Paul and Conor McGregor, there’s no question how much interest fans would have in that fight.
That’s really what the fight game is all about: interest and entertainment. It’s hard to imagine many fight fans not tuning in to watch those two go at it.
Will that happen? We'll have to wait and see, but there's no reason why it won't happen. Both men could be in for some big money one day.
According to Paul, McGregor is “scared” to fight him. There's one easy way McGregor could prove that's not true.
Fight it, Connor. The ball is in your court.
