Conor McGregor has given his opinion on tonight's boxing match between Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal.
As McGregor recovers from a toe injury that caused him to postpone a long-planned return to mixed martial arts against Michael Chandler, he is waiting for a new date for that bout to be announced and is now turning his attention to a boxing main event showdown between two other former UFC stars.
McGregor knows Diaz well as a fighter and that experience means he expects the Stockton native to be victorious in the bout on Saturday at the Honda Center in Anaheim.
In fact, McGregor said on social media that he bet Diaz a whopping $500,000 tonight.

“Distance, form, experience and just using punches. I don't think Masvidal would have a problem with Nate in a boxing ring,” McGregor posted. “They're both silly idiots in the fight but I think Nate would beat him really easily.”
McGregor and Diaz had two legendary fights at UFC 196 and UFC 202. With just over a week's notice, the popular American fighter upset his Irish opponent at UFC 196.
McGregor exacted revenge by winning a closely fought majority decision at UFC 202, which was at one point the highest-paid pay-per-view-bought fight in UFC history.
Meanwhile, Masvidal and the former two-division world champion have never fought inside the Octagon, and UFC CEO Dana White has previously pointed out that McGregor would look dwarfed against the “Gamebred” at 170 pounds.
Diaz and Masvidal last fought at UFC 244 in November 2019, with the Miami native winning by doctor's stoppage in the third round to become the inaugural BMF champion.
