Conor McGregor expects Nate Diaz to beat Jorge Masvidal in a boxing match.
“The Notorious” McGregor bragged on Twitter just before Saturday's boxing event at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif., which will feature MMA stars Diaz and Masvidal as the main event, that he would bet $500,000 on the longtime rival to beat Masvidal. Given Diaz's underdog status (currently +210 with DraftKings Sportsbook), McGregor claims he stands to win $1.625 million if the bet is successful.

McGregor didn't have any kind words for either fighter in his comments, but he specifically denied that Masvidal had a shot at winning.
“I'm betting $500,000 on Diaz to win tonight's boxing match,” McGregor wrote, “using distance, form, experience and punches alone. I don't think Masvidal will have any trouble with Nate in a boxing ring. They're both silly goofballs and silly pratfalls in fights, but I think Nate will beat him really easily here. $500,000 will set me back $1.625 million.”
Masvidal and Diaz previously fought at UFC 244 in November 2019. That day, Masvidal inflicted a severe cut over Diaz's right eye and won by doctor's stoppage at the end of the third round to become the inaugural “BMF” champion.
McGregor and Diaz have a history together: the two faced off in major pay-per-view bouts at UFC 196 and UFC 202, with Diaz submitting McGregor in the first bout and McGregor getting some revenge in the rematch by winning by majority decision.
