A Colorado martial arts instructor accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old student has been arrested in Texas, police announced Wednesday.
Texas authorities arrested Michael Theo, 21, on Monday during a traffic stop in Spicewood, an unincorporated community in central Texas, and he was booked into the Travis County Jail, according to a Wednesday news release from the Westminster Police Department. He has been taken away and is said to be awaiting extradition.
According to the announcement, an ongoing inappropriate relationship between Seo, who was 19 years old at the time, and a 14-year-old female student was reported to the police, and a warrant for Seo's arrest was issued in February 2023.
Westminster Police said after a thorough investigation, a warrant was issued for Seo for sexual assault of a child by a person in a position of trust, where the victim was under the age of 15.
Police have not disclosed where Seo worked.
