Colombia, currently unbeaten in 26 matches, confirmed their strong form by holding Brazil to a 1-1 draw and securing top spot in Group D with seven points.
Panama proved their potential by defeating Bolivia 3-1 to finish second in Group C and advance to the knockout stages. This was a historic achievement for Panama, as it was the first time the country had reached the quarterfinals of the Copa America.
