In 2021, EA originally announced plans to create a new college football game, but planned to use a generic player to avoid legal issues. However, after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that student-athletes can use NIL to profit from their college careers, publishers changed tack. It was previously reported that players interested in participating in College Football 25 would have to opt-in, and that opt-in rewards included $600 and a copy of the game.
EA officially announced earlier this year that they would be making an official announcement for College Football 25 in May. College Football 25 has yet to receive any official information beyond two teasers, but EA previously shared details about the upcoming sports match with ESPN. This also includes confirmation that Dynasty Mode and Road to Glory will be returning. It is also confirmed that 134 FBS schools have agreed to participate, but real-life coaches like Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin will not be featured, or at least not released.
College Football 25 will also incorporate new features introduced to college football, including the College Football Playoff system, NIL, and transfer portal. However, EA has not yet shared details regarding their implementation.
