“No Love” is back.
Former bantamweight champions Cody Gabranth and Myles Johns have verbally agreed to fight at UFC Fight Night on Oct. 12. The location and venue will be announced at a later date.
Two people with knowledge of the fight recently alerted MMA Junkie to the bout, but requested anonymity because the promotion has yet to make an official announcement. The bout was first reported by Eurosport NL.
Garbrandt (14-6 MMA, 9-6 UFC) entered UFC 300 in April on the back of a two-fight winning streak with wins over Trevin Jones and Brian Kelleher. However, UFC 300 also became the night of Deiveson Figueiredo, who defeated Garbrandt by submission in the second round.
Johns (15-2 MMA, 6-2 UFC) has a 4-3-0 record with one no contest, including wins over Vince Morales, Cody Gibson and Douglas Silva de Andrade. The no contest was originally a win over Dan Argueta, but the result was overturned by the Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) after Johns' drug test showed the M3 metabolite of DHMCT. The NAC raised the threshold for M3 metabolites between a detected test and sanctions.
With these additions, the UFC Fight Night lineup on October 12 will now look as follows:
- Grant Dawson vs. Rafa Garcia
- Cody Garbrandt vs. Miles Jones
