Breakdancing, or more accurately called breaking, is sure to be the hottest new event at the Paris Olympics, where 16 B-boys and 16 B-girls will compete for gold, silver and bronze.
The men's and women's competitions mark the latest sports to be added to the Olympic program.
Chula Vista native Logan Edra hopes to be on Team USA when the squad is announced before the Paris Olympics, thanks to years of work at local gyms and competitions around the world.
Edra, 20, who goes by the name Logistx, currently lives in Florida, but many of her relatives still live in the South Bay.
“I would say my connection to music is one of my greatest strengths,” Edra said. Edra has also mastered all the high-flying, low-turning dance stunts that appear otherworldly to the public eye.
Edra has two Olympic qualifying tournaments in May and June that will determine whether she earns a spot on the U.S. team.
