Chinese Taipei will send a record number of boxers to Astana in 2023 and the size of its delegation will once again be huge, with 23 boxers for the next ASBC Asian U22 & Youth Boxing Championships, with teams arriving on April 25th. Includes talented players.
Boxers born in 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005 will be eligible to compete in the U22 age group in Astana, Kazakhstan. Boxers born in 2006 and 2007 are eligible to participate in the youth generation group of this particular continental event.
Chen Tsai-chun is the team manager of the delegation, and two physical therapists are also participating in the traveling team. Of the seven coaches, Kao Chih Yuan and Chiu Ching Ya previously had successful careers as boxers on the international stage.
Chinese Taipei won a historic gold medal at the ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships in Astana last November, and their talent has carried them to medals in the youth division of the competition and even at the Junior World Boxing Championships.
Chinese Taipei Boxing's management includes seven boxers on the U22 national team, and the team's No. 1 female talent, Guo Yixuan, will not be in Astana due to duties in the second match.n.d. World Olympic Boxing Qualification Event.
Liu Yu Xiang will compete in the ISF Gymnasiad and Youth World Boxing Championships in 2022, and the talented boxer could be his biggest weapon at the U22 level. Qiu Qingyu and Tsai Chengyu both competed in the recent ASBC Asian Youth Boxing Championships and were promoted to the U22 national team. Kao Tzu Heng also has over five years of experience in the sport and could be a weapon for them in Astana.
Chinese Taipei has selected a total of 16 youth boxers for the upcoming championship, including several newcomers to the national team. Pan Yan Fei, Chen Yu Chen, Chou Po Chun, Lai Chi Lin, Wu Yu En, Zheng Yun Ju and Wang Yu Tang all have experience from last year's youth competition. The U22 and youth national team coaches are hoping to win medals in Astana and continue their strong development in the sport.
