Chel Sonnen criticizes fan criticism of Ronda Rousey
In a recent YouTube upload, Sonnen weighed in on Rousey's book and recent statements.
Sonnen said of Rousey, “If she's saying that Ronda has something in her nervous system because of the concussion, then that's where the 'yin and yang' comes into play.” . “If she believes she was violated, she cannot judge her statements that were made afterward.Ronda continued to fight for her fans, which she says she didn't want to do. This is definitely a warning…
“The fans she did for that turned around. They turned their backs and betrayed her…They're behind them when they leave the scene that day, just like everyone else. They put their hands on their backs. Wash…and they don't take that work home. Rhonda comes out first and says she's only there to evoke feelings, good or bad, and as long as there are feelings, she's doing her job. I explained that I was doing this.”
Rousey pioneered women's MMA and was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in 2018. She holds numerous UFC records, including fastest finish in a women's UFC title fight against Cat Zingano (14 seconds).
Sonnen, who is well-versed in the history of martial arts, feels Rousey's place in UFC lore has been cemented. Sonnen thinks Rousey's “GOAT” claim is debatable, but she feels the backlash to her comments is unwarranted.
