There are locations in the Poconos where you can take helicopter tours and even have flight schools where you can learn to fly yourself.
TOBYHANNA, Pa. — Inside a hangar at Pocono Mountains Regional Airport in Monroe County, High-tech helicopterThis is where you can take to the skies with a guide or learn to fly on your own.
“We do everything from ground training to flight training for the students, and we also do flight tours – we often go to Pocono Raceway and the Delaware Water Gap – and we also do aerial photography,” said flight instructor Paolo Giansanti.
“We do a lot of different occasions, egg drops, golf drops, rose drops, gender reveals, it's really cool,” said Mackenzie Seitz, an instructor who got her private helicopter pilot's license here and is now in training.
“I actually started on a tour about a year and a half ago. The instructor asked me, 'Do you want to try it?' and I left the next day.”
“A lot of people don't realize that you can just do a trial flight. You don't need any prior experience and you'll see if it's right for you. Nine times out of 10, people want to continue,” Gianzanti said.
“I love everything about helicopters,” Seitz said, “and I love that I'm obsessed with helicopters. They're everything I want to do. I can't wait for people to try them out and experience them.”
Newswatch 16 took an aerial tour of Great Wolf Lodge, Crossings Premium Outlets, Camelback Resort and Lake Harmony.
