Charles Oliveira is reacting after his UFC 300 opponent Arman Tsarukyan called him a “one-dimensional” fighter.
UFC 300 takes place this Saturday, April 13th, and will see Charles Oliveira (35-9 MMA) enter the cage with Arman Tsarukian (21-3 MMA) in a lightweight bout.
“De Bronx” last competed against Beneil Darish (22-6 MMA) at UFC 289 last June.
'Ahal Karakets' was on a three-fight winning streak heading into Saturday's match, most recently defeating Beneil Darish by KO in December last year.
In the lead-up to UFC 300, Tsarukyan advised on “The MMA Hour” that he would be the winner.
“My prediction is a finish in the first round. TKO, it's over.”
In a recent interview with MMA Fighting, Charles Oliveira responded to Tsarukyan's comments:
“People say what they want, right? That's all, if I have 16 submissions on my (UFC) record, they've all been from behind, right? And the knockouts I've had are Do you think it was a submission and not a knockout? Their story is so bullshit.”
Charles Oliveira, 34, continued:
“He's very tough and he's in good shape. But we're talking about the players at the top of the division. We're not talking about anyone, so before we say anything. You need to calm down. I'm number one in this department. I have the record for most submissions and most bonuses. If you look at my history, you're talking crap. I understand.”
A lot is at stake, as a win for either could give them a shot at the lightweight title.
Are you watching it on Saturday night? Would you bet on Charles Oliveira or Arman Tsarukyan to win?
