Several Boston Celtics fans got into a brawl at the team's watch party on Friday night as tensions rose following the team's blowout Game 4 loss to the Dallas Mavericks.
The Celtics had a chance to win two straight NBA Finals on the road, but the Mavs won 122-84 to extend the series.
And tempers erupted at the Celtics' TD Garden after video showed fans wearing Paul Pierce jerseys fighting.
A fan wearing a Pierce jersey shoved another fan wearing a green T-shirt to the ground and punched him at least 10 times while the fellow Boston supporter struggled to his feet.
During the encounter, a fan wearing a zip-up hoodie grabbed a man wearing a Pierce jersey from behind, apparently trying to move him away from the other man, but was punched by the man's friend wearing the No. 34 jersey.
From there, security and other fans stepped in to calm the situation, but the drama wasn't over yet.
A player wearing a Pierce jersey yelled that the guy he was fighting was a “son of a bitch.”
The fan wearing a green T-shirt was then helped to his feet and began climbing the stairs with the security guard, before attacking another fan who appeared to be unrelated.
Both players fell to the ground, and a previously uninvolved supporter kicked the T-shirt-wearing fan.
Boston suffered its first loss in over a month in a loss to the Mavs, as the team struggled on the field and fell behind 61-35 at halftime and never recovered.
It was one of the most lopsided losses in NBA Finals history, and the 38-point loss was the third-largest single-game margin of victory in the league's championship series.
Luka Doncic led the Mavericks with 29 points before being benched late in the third quarter.
Meanwhile, Boston stars Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown combined to shoot 7-22 from the field in what was a tough night for both Celtics.
The Celtics and their fans will get a chance for revenge on Monday when they return to Boston for Game 5 and a potential championship.
