The United States Basketball Association has announced the team that will represent the United States in women's 3×3 basketball at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Cameron Brink, Sierra Burdick, Ryne Howard and Haley Van Lith They make up Team USA. Each woman on the team will be making her Olympic debut.
Brink, a Stanford University graduate, was recently selected No. 2 overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft and currently plays for the Los Angeles Sparks. Burdick has the most 3×3 experience on the team, having helped the U.S. win gold medals at the 2014 and 2023 FIBA World Cups. Howard, the 2022 WNBA Rookie of the Year, has less 3×3 experience than her teammates but is one of the league's most dynamic young stars. Van Lith has appeared in two NCAA Final Fours and will play her final season of college basketball in 2024-25. She and Brink both played with Burdick and helped the U.S. win gold medals at the 2023 3×3 World Cup.
“As I always say, there is no greater honor than representing the United States at the Olympic Games,” the team's coach, Jen Rizzotti, said in a press release. “We understand the challenge as we face off against incredibly talented and experienced 3×3 teams. I am confident that this roster, with its experience, versatility and dedication to USA Basketball excellence, gives us what we need to compete for a gold medal again. We can't wait to get started.”
The United States won its first gold medal in the women's 3×3 event at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Because National Olympic Committees have the exclusive right to represent their country at the Olympic Games, an athlete's participation in Paris depends on their country's NOC selecting an athlete to represent their country at Paris 2024.
