This year's U.S. semifinals are scheduled for Friday, April 5th, and the championships are scheduled for Sunday, April 7th. If Iowa loses by then, Clark can attend varsity camp.
Clark averaged 29.5 points per game in wins over Holy Cross in the first round and West Virginia in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. She is expected to be the top pick in next month's WNBA draft.
The 22-year-old won three gold medals with the U.S. Basketball Junior National Team and most recently starred as a member of the 2021 U19 Women's Team. During that tournament, she started all seven games and averaged 14.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game, earning her tournament MVP honors.
Clark could ultimately be selected for the U.S. Women's Olympic 5-on-5 or 3-by-3 team for this summer's Paris Games. The United States' 5-on-5 team has won gold medals in the past seven Summer Olympics. The 3×3 costume won the first competition at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.
The 14-player roster for training camp, announced Thursday, includes former Olympians Diana Taurasi, Ariel Atkins (Washington Mystics), Chelsea Gray, Brittney Greiner, Jewell Lloyd, Brianna Stewart and Ajah. Wilson is listed. Also included are guards Kelsey Plum and Jackie Young, former No. 1 draft picks Aliyah Boston and Ryne Howard, who are members of Tokyo's 3×3 team. Sabrina Ionescu and Mystic Center's Shakira Austin round out the group.
