As Olympians make final preparations to travel to Paris for the Summer Games, one past medalist won't be accompanying them this year: Bruce Springsteen's daughter.
According to CBS News, Jessica Springsteen (33), the Olympic silver medalist in equestrian events who made her Olympic debut at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, will not be joining this year's U.S. team following the announcement of the Paris Olympic equestrian team.
On Saturday, July 6, the United States Equestrian Federation announced its 2024 Olympic team via press release, with Springsteen conspicuous by his absence. This year's team is made up of Kent Farrington, Laura Clout and McClain Ward, with support from alternate member Carl Cook.

“We are extremely fortunate to have three of the sport's most experienced riders, all of whom are in top form heading into the Olympics. We also have a strong pair of alternate rider horses in Carl and Caracol, who have been in great form recently,” team principal Robert Rydland said in a release. “Now that selections have been completed, we are 100 percent focused on Paris.”
Farrington, Clout and Ward have all competed in seven Olympic Games together. Ward was part of the U.S. gold medal-winning teams in 2004 and 2008, the latter of which included Clout. Similarly, Farrington helped the U.S. win silver in 2016.

Springsteen won the silver medal in the three-person team event with Clout and Ward, current Team USA members of the U.S. equestrian team.
Shortly before making his Olympic debut in Tokyo, Springsteen spoke to People magazine about what it was like taking part in the world's most iconic sporting event.
“It's the biggest honour. My whole career it's been my goal to represent my country, so to be able to do that at the Olympics is just a huge honour. I couldn't be more excited,” she said.

She also spoke about her partnership with Belgian Warmblood stallion Don Juan van de Donckhove, whom she rides competitively.
“It's all about partnerships with horses, and I have a really strong partnership with Don,” she explained at the time. “When you have horses, sometimes it takes a long time to get to know each other, but Don and I hit it off right away and have just been building on that ever since. We definitely have a great relationship of trust.”
