ESPN's latest mock draft has Bronny James being selected 52nd overall by the Golden State Warriors and Zachary Lisacher being selected first by the Atlanta Hawks.
James received increased draft recognition at the recent NBA Combine, via multiple sources, including ESPN's Jonathan Givony, who wrote on Wednesday that NBA executives are “opening up to seeing James drafted.” [Bronny] Over the past few weeks, he has been gaining attention as an NBA prospect.”
Lisacher, a 19-year-old forward for JL Bour in LNB Pro (the top professional basketball league in France), is likely competing for the first pick with Alex Sarr, a 19-year-old big man who last played for the Perth Wildcats in the Australian National Basketball League.
James has been trending highly in mock drafts recently. In his latest mock draft, Bleacher Report's Jonathan Wasserman projects James to be selected 55th overall by the Los Angeles Lakers, led by his father, superstar LeBron James. Kevin O'Connor of The Ringer echoed that prediction. CBS Sports' Travis Branham projects James to be selected 17th overall in the first round, also by Los Angeles.
So the Lakers seem to be the favorite spot for James, who has a much better chance of being drafted, while Lisacher is garnering attention as the prospect with the second-highest chance of being selected first overall. According to FanDuel Sportsbook, Sarr has the best odds of being selected first overall at -200, while Lisacher is second at +250. No other player has odds lower than +1100.
We'll soon find out where Lisacher and James end up with the draft, scheduled for June 26th and 27th in Brooklyn, New York.
