Brett Clatterbaugh
Linebacker, Class of 2025
Eastern View, Culpeper, Virginia
6-2, 235
Virginia Tech acquired a big commitment from Eastern View (Culpeper, Va.) linebacker Brett Clatterbaugh on Saturday. He quickly became one of the top brawlers of the Pry era in Blacksburg. He is the fifth commitment in the 2025 recruiting class and the fourth from Virginia.
Clutterbaugh is ranked as a four-star prospect by three out of four recruiting services and No. 5 in the state by Rivals.com. ESPN ranks him the No. 267 overall rookie in the country. He lists himself at 6-2 and No. 235, choosing the Hokies from a list of offers that includes Georgia, Clemson, Notre Dame, Louisville, Ohio State, Michigan State, Penn State, South Carolina, Texas A&M and others. I chose.
Just before Christmas, Clutterbaugh named his top five schools: the Hokies, Georgia, Penn State, Clemson and Notre Dame, before ultimately choosing an in-state school.
Clatterbaugh plays defensive end at Eastern View, but is listed as a linebacker on all recruiting services. He has been heavily pursued by Virginia Tech's current staff since early 2022, and his recruiting efforts actually began in 2021 by former Virginia Tech staff. He also wrestles and is a three-time state champion.
