Rochester 1, Aberdeen 0
On Wednesday, Aberdeen lost 1-0 to Rochester in Aberdeen, with a late penalty goal making the difference.
The Bobcats (2-3, 1-2, 2A Evergreen) outscored Rochester (3-3, 3-1) 19-2 in the game, but their accuracy on the possession end was poor. Aberdeen head coach Larry Fleming said: “Many goals were left unfinished and could have put the game out of reach. There was,” he said.
When the Bobcats took a shot on goal, they missed. Aberdeen hit the crossbar twice in the game and had several shots that missed the mark by inches, resulting in a scoreless draw with 15 minutes left in the second half.
At that time, a handball inside Aberdeen's 18-yard box gave Rochester a penalty kick, which was converted and the Cats lost 1–0 in the 65th minute.
Coach Fleming cited the play of forward Evan Cone and senior defender Isaiah Johnson, saying, “We had a good effort, but we didn't handle the ball very well and our decision-making throughout the game was very poor.” he said. “I need to improve my touch in practice and try to play better next time.”
Aberdeen will play Tumwater at Tumwater on Friday at 7 p.m.
