Boxing returns to Las Vegas tonight. Richardson Hitchens and Gustavo Daniel Lemos battle it out for a chance at a world title.
Tonight, Richardson Hitchens and Gustavo Daniel Lemos will face off in a world title eliminator, with Brits Skye Nicholson and Galal Yafai appearing on the undercard.
Hitchens is undefeated in 17 professional fights and returns to the ring for the first time since a lopsided points victory over former world title challenger Jose Zepeda last September. A win over Lemos would put the New Yorker in pole position to win the IBF junior welterweight title, which is currently held by Puerto Rican Sabriel Matias.
Nicholson has amassed an impressive record of 9-0 in just over two years, and tonight she will take on Sara Mahfoud for the world title for the first time. Olympic gold medalist Galal Yafai also had a turnover two years ago and is expected to improve to 7-0 against Agustin Gaut. So, here's all you need to know about tonight's fight…
What time does the battle start?
The fight between Hitchens and Lemos is scheduled to begin at around 10:30pm tonight in Las Vegas, which corresponds to 3:30am local time on Sunday in the UK. Nicholson's world title fight is likely to begin around 1:30 a.m., with Yafai scheduled to enter the ring shortly after 2 a.m. All match times are subject to change depending on the results of the undercard.
