Ryan Garcia blames brother Sean for losing match
The 23-year-old boxer faced Vargas on the undercard of “Last Man Standing: Nate Diaz vs. Jorge Masvidal” on Saturday night, after Masvidal landed a powerful left hook that forced the referee to stop the bout and was declared the winner by knockout.
After the loss, Ryan openly criticized his brother, drawing flak from his brother's fans. When netizens criticized “King Ly”, who was recently arrested for felony property damage, he retorted, “Are you kidding me? You guys are weird. Shawn is laughing too. Everyone stop being so soft. Everyone is super attractive these days.”

Ryan is known for voicing his controversial opinions on social media, and as per usual, he posted a series of tweets after his brother's fight. “Shawn just got hit with uppercuts and didn't fight back. Fair play and congrats to Amado. I would have knocked you and your brothers out pretty easily but congrats you guys won,” he wrote in one of the tweets.
The former lightweight champion was arrested last month on suspicion of felony criminal damage to property in lieu of paying $15,000 in restitution. According to TMZ, Ryan was handcuffed and taken away by police from the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Beverly Hills on June 8. After the confrontation with police, his manager, Lupe Valencia, expressed concern about his personal issues.

“Ryan has been open about his mental health issues for many years and is currently under a great deal of emotional strain. He needs the support and understanding of his fans and the public as he works through these personal challenges,” Valencia said.
“We are working diligently to provide Ryan with the resources he needs. Our team is committed to ensuring he receives the appropriate support and care to address his short- and long-term health conditions,” his manager added to USA Today.
