Boxer Ryan Garcia has reportedly been arrested following an alleged incident at a Beverly Hills hotel.
Garcia won his bout against Devin Haney in April but was then embroiled in major controversy after allegedly failing a drug test.
According to ESPN, Garcia tested positive for the performance-enhancing substance ostarine the day before and the day of the Haney fight.
ESPN reported that Garcia was arrested in Los Angeles on Saturday night.
According to the report, “Boxing star Ryan Garcia was arrested Saturday on suspicion of felony property damage at a Beverly Hills hotel after causing an estimated $15,000 in damages, a Beverly Hills police watch commander told ESPN.”
“Police said Garcia, 25, was arrested at 5:45 p.m. after a driver who dropped him off at the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills called police.”
“Ryan has been open about his mental health issues for many years and is currently under great emotional strain,” Garcia's lawyer, Darin Chavez, said in a statement.
“The support and understanding from his fans and the public is crucial as he navigates these personal challenges, and we are working diligently to provide Ryan with the resources he needs.”
