Boxer Gervonta Davis is set to become a father for the third time.
His girlfriend, Vanessa Posso, revealed she is pregnant with the couple's second child in a sweet Father's Day post on social media.
The controversial fighter, who has been accused of violent behaviour, also has a child with ex-girlfriend Andretta Smothers.
“Baby G 2.0,” Posso captioned an Instagram post of her daughter, Giovanna Talia, wearing a T-shirt that read, “My big sister days.”
She also shared a series of clips from her maternity shoot, highlighting her growing belly.
“Life these days,” she wrote in the caption.
Fans were quick to point out that this news broke just a year after she accused Davis of domestic violence.
The influencer, who retracted the claim five months later, may have subtly responded to the remark by posting a cryptic quote on her Instagram Story.
“No one talks about how having a child literally changes the way you see everything,” one quote reads.
“You have no desire to impress people or to fit in. The negative things people think or say no longer matter.”
She also wrote, “The little family you've created is the best team you could ever have.”
She and Davis welcomed baby Giovanna in October 2021.
The following December, he was arrested on a misdemeanor domestic violence charge after he allegedly hit her with a “closed-fist slap,” leaving her with an abrasion on her lip, according to a Broward County Sheriff's Office incident report.
However, Posso later walked back on the seriousness of the incident, claiming the altercation was “on both sides' behalf.”
“The last few days have been difficult and extremely exhausting for all involved,” she wrote on social media at the time. “Our relationship has been on shaky ground and both Gervonta and I share responsibility for the altercation.”
She continued, “Emotions were high, I became upset and made an unnecessary call to the police during a tense moment. Gervonta did not harm me or my daughter.”
“Today we sought the help we need to move forward in our lives, and with the counseling provided to us, we are confident we will be successful in our co-parenting dynamic.”
Meanwhile, Davis has broken his silence and denied the accusations in an Instagram post.
“I never laid a hand on my baby mother or my daughter. Are you crazy!?” Davis wrote. “I am not a monster.”
The lightweight champion previously turned himself in to Florida police after grabbing his ex-girlfriend, Smothers, by the throat during a charity basketball game in 2020.
He also faced assault charges in 2017 for hitting a childhood friend in the head, but the charges were later dropped.
He was later accused of fighting a man at a shopping mall in Virginia and was charged with disorderly conduct following a street brawl in 2018.
