Hamza Sheeraz (20-0, 16 KOs) dominated Austin “Amo” Williams (16-1, 11 KOs), dropping him in the 11th round in the WBC middleweight title bout on Saturday night at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Williams started the bout well, rocking the 6-foot-3 Hamza with a straight left in the first round. The shot took Sheeraz off his feet and forced him to hang on.
Sheeras controlled the 6-foot-0 Amo Williams with his jab and right hand, beating him from the second round onwards.
At the end of the 10th round, Sierras caught Williams in the head with a right hand, knocking him hard to the canvas, Williams got up at the count of seven but in bad shape, at which point the round ended.
At the start of the 11th round, Sheeras landed a right punch to the head of Amo Williams, causing him to stumble and nearly fall, so the referee stepped back and stopped the bout at 45 seconds into the 11th round.
Queensberry team captain Sheeraz's win gave them a 6-0 lead over Matchroom in the five-on-five event.
