Two former UFC light heavyweight champions may meet in a boxing match at ONE Championship 169 in Atlanta, Georgia.

ONE Championship made its US debut last year at ONE Fight Night 10 in Broomfield, Colorado, and the promotion is currently scheduled to return to the US in late 2024, with events in Denver and Atlanta already booked.
The main event of ONE 169 (previously advertised as ONE Fight Night 28) will see ONE triple crown champion Anatoly Malikin defend his heavyweight title against Umar “Leug Leug” Cain, who recently appeared The Joe Rogan Experience Former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson has claimed that a boxing match against Rashad Evans is currently in the works for the November 8 event.

One of the things that makes ONE Championship unique in the world of martial arts is the variety of bouts it hosts: mixed martial arts, kickboxing, submission grappling and 4oz Muay Thai have all regularly appeared on ONE cards, and in 2018, Ilan Diaz faced off against Srisaket Sor Rungvisai in the organization's first-ever boxing bout.
“Rampage” last competed in mixed martial arts in 2019, losing to fellow PRIDE legend Fedor Emelianenko at Bellator 237. Jackson was scheduled to make his boxing debut against former WBO heavyweight champion Shannon “The Cannon” Briggs in June, but the bout never happened.
Evans hasn't fought since his win over Gabriel Czech at Eagle FC in 2022, but if a boxing bout is planned for ONE 169, “Suga” would have the opportunity to improve his record to 2-0 against Jackson since the two former light heavyweight champions headlined the main event at UFC 144 in 2010.
