The Class of 2024 will receive boxing’s highest honor during an official induction ceremony on Sunday, June 9th at 2:30 p.m.
The ceremony will be livestreamed on the Hall of Fame's YouTube channel
CANASTOTA, N.Y. – May 28, 2024 – Celebrating its 35th anniversary in 2024, the International Boxing Hall of Fame and Museum is pleased to announce that Hall of Fame ring announcer Jimmy Lennon Jr. will emcee the official induction ceremony honoring the Class of 2024 inductees.
The official induction ceremony, part of the 2024 Hall of Fame Induction Weekend festivities, will be held at 2:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, June 9 at the Showroom at Turning Stone Resort Casino near Verona, New York. The ceremony will be streamed live on the Hall of Fame's YouTube channel.
“As the Boxing Hall of Fame celebrates 35 years of honoring the sport's best, we are thrilled that Jimmy Lennon Jr. will serve as emcee for the official induction ceremony and help present boxing's highest honor, induction into the Boxing Hall of Fame, to our Class of 2024 inductees,” said Edward Brophy, executive director of the Boxing Hall of Fame.
The Class of 2024 to be honored include boxers Ricky Hatton, Ivan Calderon, Diego Corrales (posthumously), Michael Moore, Jane Couch, Ana Maria Torres, Luis Ángel Firpo (posthumously) and Theresa Kibby (posthumously), trainer Kenny Adams, manager Jackie Cullen, publicist Fred Sternberg, journalist Wallace Matthews and announcer Nick Charles (posthumously).
Living recipients receive a Hall of Fame certificate and a custom gold Hall of Fame ring symbolizing their Hall of Fame status.
Inductees were selected by a panel of members of the Boxing Writers Association of America and international boxing historians.
Many Hall of Fame alumni and special guests will be in attendance to congratulate the new inductees.
The Class of 2024 will be celebrated during Hall of Fame Weekend in the “Hometown of Boxing” from June 6-9. During the four-day celebration, numerous events will be held in Canastota and nearby Turning Stone Resort Casino, including ringside talks, fist throwing, fight nights, a 5K race/fun run, a boxing autograph card show, a banquet and a parade.
