The boxing showdown between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul has recently been hit with an unexpected twist. What was considered a legitimate bout was officially rescheduled due to an issue Tyson had before the two boxing giants were due to meet in the ring. However, the controversial fight will not take place on the scheduled date as it has now been postponed until further notice.

Mike Tyson postpones boxing bout with Jake Paul amid health scare
The July 20, 2024 bout between heavyweight boxing giant Mike Tyson and influencer-turned-boxer Jake Paul at AT&T Stadium in Dallas has been officially postponed due to Tyson's health issues. Tyson's ulcers worsened during a flight earlier this week, leading doctors to declare him physically unfit, and so the expert-sanctioned bout will take place at a later date. The 57-year-old heavyweight boxer felt nauseous and dizzy while traveling from Miami to Los Angeles. Paramedics rushed to the former heavyweight champion's side.
“Following a follow-up consultation with medical professionals on Thursday regarding a recent ulcer recurrence, it was recommended that Mike Tyson continue with minimal to light training over the next few weeks, after which he may return to full training without restrictions.” match organisers said in a statement.

Mike Tyson has not fought professionally since June 2005, and both fighters said they would announce a new fight date within the next week. In a statement, Tyson warned Jake Paul that he was back in full training and ready to put on an unforgettable performance.
“My body is in the best shape it has been since the 1990s and I plan to return to a full training schedule soon. Jake Paul, this may have bought me some time, but in the end I will be knocked out and banned from boxing for good. I thank everyone for your patience and can't wait to put on an unforgettable performance later this year.” Tyson said in a statement.
Jake Paul said he prayed for Tyson's recovery and supported the decision to postpone the fight rather than cancel it so Tyson would have no excuse to take part in the fight.
