Boxing has not been shown at the Tropicana Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey, for seven years.
That's about to change as Atlantic City native Larry Goldberg brings an exciting boxing series to World Playground on Saturday, May 11, 2024.
Mr. Goldberg is the CEO of Boxing Insider Promotions and one of New York City's most active promoters.
Goldberg describes the upcoming fight card as “stacked and packed.”
Mr. Goldberg said:
Boxing Insider Promotions is bringing boxing back to the Boardwalk at Atlantic City's Tropicana Hotel/Casino. Dates start Saturday, May 11th at 7:30pm in the showroom. Goldberg said this will be the Atlantic City debut for the company, which has been promoting shows at New York City's legendary Sonny Hall.
As Holy Spirit High School stands out, local connections are also popular. Justin Figueroa (8-0, 6 KOs)…A junior middleweight who graduated from Holy Spirit High School in 2017, where he excelled in football and wrestling.
Figueroa is also an experienced amateur boxer, having previously defeated 2022 National Golden Gloves Champion Nasheed Smith.
His last fight was on March 30, 2014, when he defeated Christian Aguirre by six round decision in San Antonio.
Figueroa is a charismatic former lifeguard with the Atlantic City Beach Patrol.
Figueroa became known for dancing the “worm” in the ring after winning a match.

junior featherweight john leonard (10-1-1, 4 KOs) of Manalapan Township, New Jersey, will compete in the eight-round main event.
“Leonardo was an accomplished amateur athlete, winning three New York Metro Championships and one New Jersey Golden Glove Award.'' The 23-year-old, nicknamed “Body Shot,'' won He fought back in the end and won an eight-round decision over Dominic Griffin,” Goldberg said.
strong candidate price taylor Brooklyn (3-0, 2 KOs) has a big upside. He only started boxing in his 2016, but only three years later he reached the semi-finals of the Golden Gloves National Championship. He also finished runner-up at the 2021 and 2022 U.S. Championships. Taylor, who competes in the Team Combat League, was last seen competing on March 7 at Sonny Hall, where he defeated Antonio Torres by four round decision. He will compete in another fourth round on May 11th,” Goldberg said.
middleweight Jacob Solis New York (3-0, 3 KOs) and middleweight Juan Pierre Valencia It has been decided that he will make his long-awaited professional debut in the fourth round.
