I've been a covert defender of LeBron James for a long time. You have to be careful when defending LeBron here at Barstool Sports. Our company line has long been that LeBron is a self-centered, alcoholic communist who doesn't deserve to be compared to the gum on the bottom of Michael Jordan's shoe. But personally, I think he's a good basketball player and a pretty solid human being overall. But please don't repeat yourself.
But there is not much to defend this move. It is very stupid. I don't care about YouTubeTV, ESPN, or anyone who takes money from the pockets of the big cable companies. They are shit. But using illegal streaming is a really bad experience. The websites are shady, the streams are unreliable, and littered with pop-up ads. Every time I finish using a stream, I feel like showering my computer. Sometimes it's fine and I can go a few weeks or even months without any problems. But when I rely on websites like Stream East for the games I really want to watch, it crashes right away. And then I frantically refresh my computer, Google “free Mavericks Timberwolves streaming,” and click on all kinds of shady links. No one wants to do that.

Some people who see this video will say, “LeBron James is using Stream East! He's just like us!” But that's so stupid. He's not like us. He's LeBron James. I don't deny that LeBron could have done this in the hope that someone would take a video of him and say on the internet, “Wow! He's so relatable!” But that's psychopathic behavior. He can't be that crazy… right?
LeBron James using Stream East is objectively making his life harder. YouTubeTV is like $75/month? I retired from illegal streaming when I was making over $50k/year (just to watch RedZone, it's expensive, but I've gotten better lately). LeBron is a billionaire. It would take more time to turn off the ads on Stream East than it would take to buy a YouTubeTV subscription. You're a moron, LeBron. Just buy a TV or cable subscription. You're taking Stream East's bandwidth away from people who really need it.
