BELVIDERE – Blue Thunder star soccer player Courtlin Hefty signed a letter of intent Monday to play at the Division I level with Cleveland State University.
The senior is a three-time all-conference player and holds both the single-season and all-time scoring records for Belvidere North. She has scored 104 goals in 50 games.
As a sophomore, he was on the all-division team. In her junior year, she earned All-State honors. The special event drew many friends, family, and coaches.
They all described Hefty as highly skilled, highly intelligent, and always working hard. She started playing soccer at the age of three. For the past few years, she's been waking up at 6:15 a.m. almost every morning to train. Her trainer explained how she could deadlift a whopping 300 pounds.
Hefty also played for the Rockford Raptors club team throughout his career. In his spare time, he helps teach at the youth level within that program. She has this very impressive track record and still has a season left to play in her high school.
She said she wants to “break” her single-season scoring record and lead her team to success during the regular season.
